Pair of Early 20th Century Chinoiserie Side Chairs

1900 - 1920
Description

A very striking pair of 19th Century chinoiserie side chairs, the splat, sides and front rail are decorated with lacquered traditional oriental scenes. The front cabriole legs have gilded shells to the knees and terminate with pad feet. These chairs are firm and stable and have been re-upholstered in a light reflecting ivory fabric which suits the style perfectly. There is slight wear to the black paint on the cresting rail and feet, this adds to the country house chic. This very stylish pair of chairs would add decorative impact wherever they are placed.
