Both doors open on loop style blacksmith made hinges and have similar metal closing latches.
It is a very rustic farmhouse style piece and has been made well but crudely which adds to its charm. The timber on the back is rough hand sawn and the metal work all hand made. There have been some repairs and restorations over the years and some of the shelves inside are more recent. It is in good condition and is a sturdy piece. There are signs of age and use, some historic woodworm in the back boards, some splits and general marks but nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and given a light coat of wax to retain its natural aged patina and it displays well.
