An impressive and rare pair of Biedermeier glazed bookcases or display cabinets.
 
c1830-40.
 
Wonderful use of highly figured, very thick burr walnut veneers, which are beautifully matched, and rich with colour and figuring.
 
The shelving to this striking pair of bookcases are all fully adjustable, with many options for size.
 
With the original hand made glass, showing the charming wobbly imperfections you would expect from earlier glass.
 
In original condition, all locks and escutcheons are present, no keys. The doors push closed sercurely.
 
The cabinets can be completely dismantled. The tops can be removed, the doors can be removed, the sides come off the base, the shelves stack. So extremely easy to maneuver if you have awkward corners etc.
 
Very solid, sturdy and strong.
 
In excellent antique condition. Expected minor signs of age and use.
