A beautiful solid silver and tortoiseshell Trinket Box by the highly collectable firm of Levi & Salaman. Modelled in a lovely cartouche shape, the box stands on four legs with pretty ball and claw feet. The lid is a lovely tortoiseshell with exquisite silver pique inlaid and engraved decoration. The lid is hinged on the back and opens and closes perfectly. When open, the green coloured velvet interior is revealed. The base of the box is covered in the original material.
The clear hallmarks are also visible on the front of the body and part hallmark to the lid frame for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1906 and Lion Passant, along with the makers mark for the renowned silversmiths: Levi & Salaman.

A truly beautiful and substantial trinket box. (There is a very minor ding on the lid edge, easy to overlook commensurate with the age of this item and mentioned for accuracy only).
