Description

A 16th century English boarded oak coffer, having a lovely dry untouched natural patina. The coffer is of heavy construction and retains its original hinges and hasp with a later 17th century lock plate. The coffer interestingly at some point has been in a fire, with the right front side having some fire damage and a small loss to the corner of the lid.

Some age related losses and ware, but overall this is a really nice example of early English furniture and in excellent condition for its age.
