. The whole raised on rounded corner rectangular black Belgio Nero marble bases.

The oval shell bodies fitted in shaped bespoke mounts with engraved decoration to the inner lip . The handles and supports modelled as coiled serpents wrapped around a naturalistic tree-stump base. The snakes with open mouths and well-detailed heads , coiled to form loop handles .

The well-selected natural shell bodies with a particularly fine fine lustre and patina.
In excellent original condition, the gilding with a softly aged colour and patination.
One minor historic repair to one snake's head .
