Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1940s.
The watch is the legendary calibre 30T2 15 jewels manual wind movement which is regarded as the finest manual wind movement ever made by Omega and was issued to the allied forces during WWII, as you can see it is in fabulous condition.
Everything about this watch is original, the only things we have replaced are the glass and mainspring. The sub seconds dial is in superb condition, it has not been retouched or restored in any way and is the best example of pre 1950s we have ever seen. The winding crown has the Omega logo. The case has been professionally polished so it is in exceptional condition.
As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case. It comes with a brand new high quality black leather strap.
Both the serial number on the movement and the hallmark for Birmingham dates this precisely to 1947.
This is by far the best original example of the 30T2 of this period we have ever come across.
Omega are one of the most exclusive watchmakers in the world and this watch certainly has that understated elegance that whispers class.
The watch case measures 34mm in diameter not including the crown.
The watch has been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Omega in all respects. It has been professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
It is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers parts. Each part is then thoroughly cleaned in a three stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturers approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and sealed.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give you reliable and dependable service and will not require further service for many years.
