Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The burr walnut veneers running down the front are exceptional quality & the pattern they show are amazing & very detailed. The drawers are oak lined, finely dovetailed & the top drawer has some partitions. The corner mounts & the escutcheons are gilt bronze. This chest has canted corners & sits on a plinth base. This is a very useful practicable item & being small would fit in many places in the home. It’s also a real character piece & it’s rare to find a piece of this age in such good condition.
