A high quality French striking and repeating carriage clock. A gilt fretwork dial with raised corner decorations and recessed gilt chapter ring with blued steel hands. Fluted front and side columns and handle centre. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong. Push button repeating. The original lever escapement. Numbered 5824. Circa. 1895.
