Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The beautifully figured mahogany seat is supported on four hexagonal faceted supports and having a nicely carved frieze. An almost identical example of this bench is found on page 337 of the pictorial dictionary of British 19th Century furniture design and shown to have been designed by W. Blackie circa 1853-1855

Condition: This bench is in superb original condition, cleaned and waxed
