Rare Epstein Art Deco Walnut and Leather Three Piece Suite

A rare Harry & Lou Epstein Art Deco Cloud Back three piece suite in original leather upholstery.

English, Circa 1930.

Of excellent quality as you would expect from Epstein with a very good weight to the chairs and sofa, the cloud shaped backs having a walnut trim upholstered in the original leather and standing on its 1930’s patented castors. Unusually the arms do not scroll back making this quite a rare model.

The cushions look to have been re-leathered some years ago as to be expected in this condition and match perfectly well.

There have been some professional repairs to the leather to one of the arms and side of the sofa which are to be expected for leather of this age.

Harry & Lou Epstein were renowned makers in the Art Deco and widely recognised as among the finest British makers in terms of design and production during the 1930’s.

Offered in good original condition the leather has been nourished and the walnut trim wax polished.

VIEWINGS
