Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The case has a chippendale inspired blind fretwork pierced cornice with three turned mahogany finials and with turned column supports with corinthian capitols. The trunk having a gothic arched flamed mahogany door and cluster column supports which are repeated on the corners of the flamed mahogany base. Supported on shaped ogee bracket feet. The 8 day movement striking a bell on the hour and having been over hauled and serviced by our horologist and the dial professionally repainted to its original glory. English circa 1780-1800
