Victorian 1.49 Carat Diamond & 2.88 Carat Sapphire Earrings, Circa 1900

Description

A sensational pair of antique earrings. Each cluster is set with an (approx.) 0.65 carat old mine cut diamond at the centre, both extraordinarily white, bright and lively. Eight cornflower blue natural sapphires surround the centre stone in a fine, hand-pierced coronet setting with a smaller old cut diamond at the top.

Secured with lever back closures.

The original vintage earring box (pictured) is included with the sale.

Accompanied by an independent jewellery report by IGR (#30308695).

Cut – Old mine cut diamonds and round cut sapphires.

Colour – The two main diamonds are E to F. The smaller diamonds are F to G.

Clarity – The diamonds are VS1 to VS2. All the sapphires are clean to the naked eye.

Carat – The two main diamonds have a combined weight of approximately 1.29 carat, with a further approximate 0.20 carat in the tops. The total approximate sapphire weight is 2.88 carat.

Circa – 1900.

Measurements – Each cluster is approximately 14.25 carat in diameter.

Metal – 18k rose gold and silver. Tested.
