Regency Era Walnut Scroll End Sofa C.1830.

Description

Impressive Regency era walnut scroll end sofa c.1830. Shaped top rail topped with a carved and pierced frieze of scrolling acanthus leaves at the centre. Over a padded backrest, arms and seat with serpentine front, upholstered in a plain slate blue fabric with rope edge. Elegantly shaped ends also with acanthus carving to the fronts. Moulded and crossbanded apron below the seat and large carved bracket feet, both featuring further repeats of the acanthus leaf motif. Excellent colour and condition with clean and serviceable covers. The frame has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
