A very fine, exquisitely shaped, good heavy gauge silver sugar bowl. The simple, elegant design has two lovely handles either side and stands on a neat and solid rectangular base. The top edge of the bowl curves to form a lip, adding to the lovely organic shape of the bowl.
Very clear hallmarks are visible on one side of the body of the bowl for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1916 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver, along with the maker’s mark for the silversmith Henry Matthews.
Condition: In lovely antique collector’s condition.
