Antique Penny Farthing Bicycle

19th century
Description

A fabulous original antique Penny Farthing Bicycle, iron framed, black painted (although appears originally to have been green), with wooden grips and single rod-brake, large spoked front wheel and similar smaller trailing wheel, with solid rubber tyres. Later leather saddle. Appears to have undergone total restoration, and is in wonderful useable condition. Original retailers' brass plaque to front for ' R. J. Beer ' Cycle Agent & Saddler - 22 High Street, Bridgwater '. A wonderful example. Measures approx; 154cm total height, with the large wheel being 137cm diameter.
