Youngs Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The legs have a good cruddy patina and the left back leg has had a break at some stage where a metal plate has been introduced, Thought the leg has had a break the chair is solid.
The velvet on the chair is quite faded in places and would benefit from being reupholstered or could be left as it is i its current country house state.
This is a fabulous looking chair and would suit any period home.
