Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian wingback armchairs evolved during the early twentieth century, combining traditional seventeenth-century draught-excluding wings with lighter proportions, softer upholstery, and refined leg carvings typical of the era.

These chairs feature solid hardwood internal frames, typically oak or beech, with carved mahogany or walnut front legs, steel coil springs, natural hair padding, and brass tack detailing.

Authentic period examples exhibit hand-carved timber legs, traditional webbing and coil spring seat construction, authentic brass studding, and balanced proportions characteristic of early 1900s craftsmanship.

Position the chair in a quiet corner alongside a sleek floor lamp, pair it with minimalist contemporary side tables, or drape a textured neutral throw to soften traditional lines within a modern space.

Vacuum the fabric regularly using a soft brush attachment, keep the chair out of direct sunlight to prevent colour fading, and treat wooden legs periodically with natural beeswax polish.
