Dutch Mahogany Centre Table. Circa 1750

18th century
Description

Unusual Dutch mid 18th century mahogany centre table with shaped top, fitted frieze front drawer and very long side drawer and standing on cabriole legs. The lift top fully fitted inside. All in fine un-touched original condition. Great colour with fine waxed patina. These are known as tobacco tables and the long side drawer is for the churchwarden pipes with the interior fitted for various smoking accessories. Men would sit round the table smoking.

Size; 29" high, 29" wide, 18" deep.
