In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The top is engraved with swirling "J.G" initials and there is a small date 9/9/16 engraved on the side.
It is clearly hallmarked for Levi & Salaman, Birmingham, 1907.
It is in good condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface marks and minor signs of age and use and some small dinks and dents but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and displays beautifully.
