A Rare Georgian Silver Tape Measure

A rare Georgian silver tape measure. This delightful item of sewing ware has an acorn shaped silver casing with an ivory winding bar to retract the tape. The original decorated tape is present and starts at 3 cms. The casing is decorated on the lid with bright cut acanthus engraving and is most attractive. A lovely and collectable piece of early sewing ware. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents, splits or losses. The tape is missing the first 2 cms.

Hallmarks :- Unmarked but tests as silver. Small items of Georgian silver were often unmarked.
