Victorian Solid Silver M Decanter Bottle Label

19th century
Description

A fine example of an unusual antique Sterling Silver decanter label for in the form of a letter "M", presumably for Madeira. The label is superb quality with ornate scrolling leaf decoration and it hangs on a silver chain. It weighs approximately 19g and the label itself measures approximately 4cm long x 3.5cm high.

It is fully hallmarked for Charles Rawlings & William Summers, London, 1846.

It is in excellent condition with a clear hallmark. There are no damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface marks and minor signs of age but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
