Description

An Early Victorian English bracket clock. Choice flame mahogany veneers to the case with an arched pediment. Tapered side columns surmounted by the original finials. Chamfered pillar bases and standing on bun feet. A cast brass bezel to the dial surround. A painted dial signed 'James Williams, Bath'. A good quality, 5-pillar, 8-day duration twin fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell. A pendulum transporting lock.

James Williams of Bath is recorded in Whites' 'Watch and Clockmakers in the City of Bath' book as being born in 1804 and working in 1861 at Daffords' Building.
