A Silver Basket

Description

The Silver Bon Bon, Fruit Basket.

The silver basket, with a loop swing handle, the handle with pierced hare bells flowing from a centre cartouche, and tapering toward the hinges.

The octagonal body with concave sides, the rim decorated with a pierced lattice, surrounding the octagonal body, with concave panels meeting the flat centre.

The basket raised on a lattice concave sided plinth, standing on four scrolled lions paw feet.

Hallmarked for Alstons & Hallam, London 1921.

Height: 5 1/2", 14cm.

Width: 5 1/4", 13.5cm.

Depth: 4 3/4", 12cm.
