The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The watch has a stem-winding movement, Hayward grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 207354 dates it back to 1881.
The watch measures 58mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop.
The case design is an early attempt at water proofing... the bezel unscrews, the winding crown pulls up and the movement hinges out of the front of the case. The watch must not be treated as being waterproof, it should be kept away from water and moisture.

The thick watch glass is in good condition and has a bevelled edge.
The signed dial is in lovely condition (just a very short hairline below the dial centre) and has lever set blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
