French Boulle Inlaid Mantel Clock

Description

A fine quality French boulle tortoishell mantel clock. Red ground with brass boulle inlay. A front glazed panel with a visible Louis IV sunburst pendulum. Gilt bronze case mounts and surmounted by floral basket finial. A gilt cast dial with individual enamel numeral cartouches and blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism by Marti of Paris striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. Circa 1890.
