Antique English Brass String Box with Scissors - Victorian - Signed

Description

A wonderful and highly decorative solid brass string dispenser, with the integral scissors in the sheath attached to the side of the box.

The lid is removed to refill the box and the string pokes through the hole in the lid. The scissors are original to the box with their brass handles and steel blades.

A real bonus to this particular box is the manufacturers signature on the underside A F C.

Dating to the late nineteenth century, around 1890, it remains in superb condition, measuring 3 1/2" in diameter and standing 5" tall to top of scissors.
