Description

A smart antique English Staunton style chess set made in Boxwood, the black chessmen having been ebonised.

The set comes complete with their original storage box with the interior of the hinged lid having the remnants of the label "Sports and Games / London and Provinces"

Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age, dating to c.1910/1920. The box measures 8" x 5" x 3 1/4" with the King standing 3 1/4".
