A beautiful and substantial solid elm boarded and joined corner cupboard retaining the original S shaped large hinges, iron rivet banding and ornately cast iron lock.
Having a particularly good natural colour and rich deep patina - not refinished and very rare to find such a cupboard in elm. Retaining the original castellated cornice and all of the boards in excellent condition. Top and back boards in oak are original also with hand forged nailed borders and with losses to some boards as shown in our photographs
Very heavy and robust. Dings and bruising consistent with age and use, later peg hooks to interior.
A really good and entirely usable piece of rarely found early elm.
Dimensions are:
40 inches wide, 24.5 inches deep and 78 inches high.
