Low Welsh Oak Centre or Side Table, Circa 1760

Description

An unusually small and low table, made of native Welsh oak, which would suit being placed against a wall or in the centre of a room. The three-plank top with edge-moulding, sits over elaborately-shaped front and side aprons, raised on slender "gun-barrel" legs united by turned H-shaped stretchers.

(There is a hole in the centre of the middle stretcher which may have once held a finial, although that would be unusual.)

Superb colour and surface patination.

Montgomeryshire, circa 1760.
