Description

Antique Georgian Period Oak Tack Cupboard or Clothes Press and dating from around 1760. Constructed from solid oak it has a cornice top above a central fielded panel flanked on either side by fielded panelled door with original H hinges and lock escutcheons. The base has a moulded top above three moulded panels and three oak lined drawers with original brass handles. It is moulded to the base and stands on ogee bracket feet. It has panelled sides and original oak panelled back boards and is hand and peg joined.

Internally it has its original oak tack hooks and a later brass rail for conversion to a hanging wardrobe where the clothes hang full length behind the three panels.

Measures: 81" high x 22" deep x 73" wide and internal depth 18"

In very good condition with lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
