Antique French Gilt Bronze Ormolu and Sevres Porcelain Candelabra

Description

A stunning pair of antique French candelabra, beautifully modeled in ormolu (finely gilded bronze) in the Louis XVI style. Each featuring an ovoid porcelain body decorated in the Sevres style with blue background and delicately painted floral swags. The three arms are formed as acanthus and the bases are draped with floral swags and a motif of a flaming touche and a bow, the trophies of cupid, to the front. They date from circa 1880.

Condition of the porcelain is excellent, just rubbing to the over-glaze gilt decoration. The ormolu is bright and clean with just some minor wear, most notably to the center sconce insert.
