A stunning Gothic clock set by the famous maker Japy Freres. It is of architectural form, finely modelled and well finished in gilt bronze.
To the sides, the panels are decorated with stylised mythical birds and flying buttresses. The clock sits on bracket feet with pieced scroll work of stylised dragons in between. Candelabra have matching bases and four lights, decorated with stylised birds and foliage.

The dial is cream porcelain enamel on copper and is slightly sculptured. The bezel has a lovely rope design. It is complete with it's original blued steel hands.
The French movement is of high quality and has the 'Japy Freres Grande Medaille D'Honneur' mark on the movement backplate. It is in excellent running condition and has been fully tested by our clockmaker. Pendulum is an old replacement. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock running, Please ask.

Condition of the case is excellent with a clean and bright finish protected by lacquer. There is some very minor wear and tarnish. The dial has some very slight nibbles around the winding holes. Candelabra arms are slightly distorted. A lovely and unusual Gothic clock set to add to your collection..
