Description
An early 19th century Regency rosewood pole screen. The pole has an adjustable screen panel and the base has three block feet with a concave shaped platform above. The base of the pole has a spiral round carved ball , a tapering reeded lower support and the thin round turned pole on which the screen slides are all solid rosewood. The oblong screen has a 'Berlin' needlework panel of birds that is held in a rosewood frame. The frame has a reeded rim and scroll carving to the corners, the back of the screen has two brass rings which attach to the pole. The tip of the rosewood pole has a turned brass urn finial. The screen is in good condition, the pole sliding rings are fixed at the height in the photographs.
