A pair of watercolours by David Gould Green depicting two coastal scenes, both signed D Green.
At the back of each watercolour a label - probably put by the framer in a later period - shows: ''Cliffs near Hastings'' (the one signed at the lower right hand corner) and ''Low Water, Whitby'' (the one signed at the lower left hand corner). We believe the artist has painted a series of coastal sea views around Britain and these are two of them.
They come in a nicely ornate gesso/gilded frame although we believe the frames are of later period, possibly 1940''.
