Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The candlesticks with lift out drip pans, the rims with re-entrant sides, and gadrooned decoration, the drip pans fitting within well detailed Corinthian capitals, resting on downward and outward tapering columns, decorated with hanging drapery of oak leaves and acorns folding around the columns. The columns finished with ring socles, before the square bases, with gadrooned caps and plinths (as per the drip pans), enclosing the concave bodies, decorated to the corners with scrolling palm leaves, and each side decorated with a classical vase resting on a 'temple' plinth.
Very good detailing throughout.
