Description

A large silver quaich of typical form with curved lug handles and a kicked up dome in the centre of the base. A sweet engraved message "Blithe & Bonny" runs around the inside, extracted from the Shakespeare song "Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more" from "Much Ado About Nothing", a lovely and no doubt appropriate message for anyone as a gift. Hallmarked for London 1899, makers Nathan & Hayes.

It measures 14.5cm (5 3/4") across the rim, 20cm (7 7/8") across the handles and 5.5cm (2 1/8") high. It weighs 216g / 6.9ozt. Condition is very good with no damage or dents and some light surface wear appropriate for age and use.
