M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
. The top of the leg with carved scrolling acanthus leaf decoration with a central 'hare-bells' in early the early C18th manner. The edge of the frame with carved gadrooned moulding.

Covered in period-style gros-point needlework or tapestry cover with a braided edge, featuring multi-coloured flowers on a brown background.
In excellent original condition with no damage or repairs to the frame or damage to the needlework. The upholstered seat in good strong condition with strong and stable webbed base to underside.

The mahogany frame with original polished surface which has achieved a good rich period style patination and colour.
Would work equally well as a centrepiece stool or coffee-table, as a window or hall seat , or for use at the end of a bed .
