Description

A Georgian period stick barometer by James Powell of Worcester. An architectural pediment with the original finial. An opening door to the silvered engraved dial with slide adjuster and mercury thermometer. Choice grain to the pale mahogany case with bookmatched veneers. The original cistern cover and brass strap.

James Powell of Worcester is recorded as working from 1804-1808 and was also a clock and watchmaker to the Prince of Wales.
