A Burr Walnut & Marquetry Inlaid Victorian Period Credenza

Description

A burr walnut & marquetry inlaid Victorian Period credenza. Having a shaped top veneered in beautifully figured burr walnut above the frieze with fine intertwined purple heart and boxwood inlaid detail. The central concave shaped door has ormolu moulding, finely carved floral appliqués and a central marquetry inlaid panel. The door opening to reveal a silk lined and shelved interior, flanked by burr walnut and marquetry pilasters with finely carved acanthus leaf corbels. The ends with a glazed bowed panel enclosing silk lined shelved interiors, the whole standing on a shaped burr walnut plinth with purple heart banding. English circa 1860-1880
