Antique silver Cyma full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a nicely jewelled Swiss stem-winding movement , calibre 998, which is working well. The movement is stamped 15 jewels, 3 adjustments, Swiss made and the calibre number 998. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

Cyma was founded by two brothers, Joseph and Theodore Schwob, in 1862. In 1892 they decided to go into partnership with Frédéric Henri Sandoz, owner of Henri Sandoz et Cie. The Cyma name was officially registered in 1903. Sandoz used the most modern of manufacturing processes and produced very high quality time-pieces, trademarked as Tavannes, Cyma and Cyma Tavannes. Their excellent reputation for quality meant that by 1910, Tavannes / Cyma were one of the largest Swiss watch manufacturers in existence. State, or Stayte, was one of the brand names used by the company.

The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is silver and has Birmingham hallmarks for 1915 it also has the makers mark for made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. It is in nice condition and has crisp engine turned detail to the front and back covers.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside the glass lens is in nice condition.

The dial is in nice condition and it has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes on vintage silver albert chain with graduated links and fob.

The chain measures 26cm including the T bar and clasp.

The chain and fob weigh 35.7 grams in total.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
