It has what is regarded as one of the best movements ever produced during the golden age of Swiss watchmaking. This is the calibre 1003 with 17 jewels adjusted to 5 positions, a true chronometer grade movement. The model reference number is 6290.

The original starburst dial is just superb and it retains its original hands and winding crown, the only thing that has been replaced is the glass.
It also retains its original buckle made by A Wenger (marked AW) who also made buckles for Patek Philippe and Audemars
It has a solid 18ct gold case measuring 25.5mm square.
As you would expect from Vacheron Constantin the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.
It is extremely rare to find this square watch in such wonderful original near mint condition throughout - this is the ultimate dress watch!

The watch has been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Vacheron Constantin in all respects. It has been professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
It is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers parts. Each part is then thoroughly cleaned in a three stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturers approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and sealed.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give you reliable and dependable service and will not require further service for many years.The serial number accurately dates it to 1959-60
