An extraordinary Monumental 19th century oak refectory table of significant historically importance. Of extremely large proportions raised on four turned legs, sat on squat bun feet - united by stretchers.
The tabletop displaying a two-part section planked top with a large drawer in the apron to one end of the table. This table features a rich, warm patination and grain throughout.
This table demonstrates a significant depth which is highly unusual making a fabulous statement in any room. An extremely rare find with such a strong provenance, making for an excellent talking point when sat around!
This table was originally situated the History of Science Museum - Oxford University, ''The Ashmolean''. The table was housed in the main Basement Gallery, which was used to display chemical, physical and medical items - along with Einstein’s blackboard and Marconi''s wireless collection.
