Early Victorian Mahogany Gallery Back 2 Drawer Writing Table

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: A Part of the Furniture

An un-pretentious but good quality piece from around 1830-50 and in very good condition for its age, with gallery back & sides, the shaped sides with ogee front profile, figured top with plain, slightly projecting front & side edges, over a frieze that has a reeded moulding to the lower edge and incorporates two in-line drawers with cock-beaded & figured fronts and brass roundel & trumpet form pull-handles, all on square tapering legs, this fine writing table has exceptional dovetail joints throughout and will impress in any elegant period-furnished reception room or study, fully-deserving of the admiring attention it will surely attract.
O/All Width 91.5cm x Depth 48.5cm (36" x 19"), O/All Height 93.5cm (36.75") & Height to Top 76cm (30")
This is an early Victorian piece, so you may expect the mature character & patina that only comes with considerable age; there are a couple of light spots on the top which you will notice in the pictures but, in real life, they aren't as pronounced and in all other respects, it's in very good, clean & sound condition, ready to use in your home.
