1920s Thomas Russell Pocket Watch

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Thomas Russell & Son, Liverpool, Swiss Made.

Thomas Russell & Son was a well respected business having achieved a Royal Warrant as watch and clock makers to the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

In 1881 the company started importing movements from Switzerland, such as the one we have in this particular watch.

The watch itself 48.5mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company and is also stamped "Russell" model. The Case is in good condition with just surface marks from use, mainly to the back, nothing too serious at all.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The signed dial has a faint hairline crack at the top and an old repair at 5 o'clock. Original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
