Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The cast iron base is beautifully modelled with a chamfered base and lipped sections at each end to secure fire irons. The condition is excellent. We have photographed this fire guard with a stunning set of mid 19th Century fire irons which are available separately.
