Solid and sturdy, a stylish small table in beautifully mellow solid walnut, with good colour and patina.
A similar table can be seen illustrated in “The Secular Furniture of E.W Godwin” by Susan Soros (p. 144) The V & A also have a manuscript sketch of the table which was originally designed around 1867 and then later interpreted and produced such as this later example.
