The panelled doors have small brass knobs and wooden closing latches. There is a shelf in one side and the other side is empty, although another shelf could be easily fitted. The large pine plate rack has two deep shelves.
It is in good condition throughout and is a good sturdy piece of furniture. It has been thoroughly cleaned and has been given a nice smooth waxed finish while leaving the wonderful aged patina. It is not without signs of age and use, some minor repairs and restorations but nothing detrimental. There are some knocks, marks, minor shrinkage splits and general signs of use but nothing untoward for a piece of this age. The drawers open and run well and have recently been repaired with new sides and bases, retaining the original fronts. The interior shelf has also been added recently.
