Regency Mahogany Serving Table

19th century
Description

A superb Regency mahogany serving table dating from the early 19th century. It stands on elegant Gillow's style tapering fluted legs and has three deep drawers, each with the original turned wooden knob. It has a raised mahogany gallery running around the sides and back of the table.

It is in very good condition and is strong and sturdy. It has been repolished and has a wonderful rich patina. There are signs of age and use, some minor surface marks and some light knocks and chips around the legs and feet but nothing detrimental. There is a large ring shaped heat mark inside the middle drawer that looks like a pan has been rested inside it at some point (at least they put it inside the drawer and not on the top!). The drawer is still perfectly usable and it can obviously only be seen when the drawer is open. Overall the table displays beautifully and has been cleaned and lightly waxed and is ready for use.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
