Description

For sale is a fine quality antique Chippendale style mahogany writing table. The top is banded in superb flame mahogany veneer surrounding the inset writing surface, the edge decorated with fine carved mouldings. Below this there is an arrangement of five drawers, each with highly figured mahogany veneers, complete with original brass handles with mahogany linings and fine dovetail construction. The desk stands on elegant shaped legs terminating on claw and ball feet. The writing table is polished on all sides making it free standing. Overall the piece is in very good untouched condition, though there is a small crack to the left canted corner. This piece is a very good example of high quality furniture of this period.
